GRIMCO (  Gujarat Rural   Industries Marketing Corporation Ltd ) is established in 1979.  Registered under the Company Act 1956. It is  fully  financed   & prompted by  Government of Gujarat and  working  for  benefit  of  Cottage sector.

It  is also to be notice that  Government of Gujarat  has  merged its  Gujarat State  Leather Industry  Development Corporation  with GRIMCO  ( a fully  Govt.  of Gujarat undertaking )  which was assigned the work of  development   of leather  sector of the State. in March 2001.   Since the  merged  the GRIMCO  has  taken up leather sector development   programme through cooperative  societies engaged in tanning,  Leather Articles and Footwear  making.

GRIMCO  is triggered for  achieving  mission to promote  the marketing rural products by way of  availing  technical  and managerial assistance to  rural artisans, resulting  in  to  generating  employment  and  thus uplifting  their economic  standard of living   and  restricting their flow to  urban area by  way organising  production  and  marketing  strategy.I

n  order to  carry out  above  said mission  the corporation has stared various activities viz.  Manufacturer  of footwear , garments  , wooden and steel  furniture's , Leather etc.  through rural  production centres. These centres are providing  technical assistance  and raw material to rural artisans and in  turn  procure  their  products   for  marketing  the same.

Presently   GRIMCO is successfully running  14  production centres and 6 sells emporia  with adequate infrastructure.
